NSA International’s first visit to Surinam, as part of the ‘Sport for Development’ (2012 – 2015) program, led to a direct collaboration with the Dutch Embassy. Both acknowledging the presence of Sport and Culture in a mature society and its significance in the lives of young people. Projekta – a non-profit foundation centered around the principles of governance, participation and gender equality – is selected to be the local organisation responsible for connecting the program objectives to concrete activities. In a follow-up meeting In February 2013 NSA International, the Dutch Embassy and Projekta developed their intervention-logic. An intervention logic that has been shared with a wider audience only two days later during a round-table session attended by a variety of sport and culture organisations in Surinam. The diverse set of sport and culture organisations are all interested in the opportunity to educate young sport- and culture leaders during the next step of the programme.
